## Project Overview

VSVTrend is an advanced trading strategy script for TradingView designed to enhance trading performance through intelligent, adaptive indicators and sophisticated signal processing. The strategy aims to create a robust, flexible trading solution that minimizes false signals and maximizes trade accuracy across various financial markets and timeframes.

### Core Objectives
The primary goal of VSVTrend is to develop a comprehensive, open-source trading strategy that provides traders with a reliable and adaptable tool for market analysis and trade execution. By integrating multiple advanced techniques, the strategy seeks to:
- Reduce trading false positives
- Provide flexible, customizable trading signals
- Support robust risk management
- Enable comprehensive backtesting

### Key Capabilities
- **Adaptive Strategy Toggle**: Ability to turn the strategy on/off dynamically
- **Supertrend Filtering**: Optional Supertrend indicator for enhanced signal validation
- **Flexible Risk Management**: Configurable stop-loss and take-profit percentages
- **Equity Percentage Trading**: Trades based on a percentage of available equity
- **Multi-Timeframe Compatibility**: Designed to work across different market timeframes

### Unique Features
- Integrated Supertrend filter with configurable parameters
- Dynamic strategy activation
- Percentage-based equity allocation
- Customizable risk management parameters
- Strategy designed for continuous improvement and community collaboration

## Getting Started, Installation, and Setup

### Prerequisites
- TradingView Account
- Basic understanding of Pine Script
- Access to TradingView Pine Editor

### Quick Start
1. Open TradingView and navigate to the Pine Editor
2. Copy the contents of `VSVTrend.pine`
3. Paste the script into a new strategy
4. Customize strategy parameters as needed:
- `show_strategy`: Toggle strategy on/off
- `use_supertrend`: Enable/disable Supertrend filter
- `atrPeriod`: Set Average True Range period (default: 10)
- `factor`: Adjust Supertrend sensitivity (default: 3.0)
- `sl`: Stop Loss percentage (default: 1.5%)
- `tp`: Take Profit percentage (default: 3.0%)

### Installation
1. No separate installation required
2. Copy the strategy directly into TradingView Pine Editor
3. Attach the strategy to any chart

### Deployment
- Development: Directly use in TradingView Pine Editor
- Backtesting: Use TradingView's built-in strategy tester
- Live Trading: Requires TradingView broker integration

### Compatibility
- Pine Script Version: 5
- Compatible with all TradingView charts and timeframes
- Supports both long and short trading strategies

### Configuration Options
- Adjustable Stop Loss and Take Profit percentages
- Toggleable Supertrend filter
- Global strategy on/off switch
- Customizable ATR period and Supertrend factor

## API Reference

### Configuration Inputs

- `show_strategy` (Boolean): Enables or disables the entire trading strategy. Default is `true`.
- Enables or disables strategy entry and exit conditions

- `use_supertrend` (Boolean): Toggles the Supertrend filter. Default is `true`.
- When enabled, shows the Supertrend indicator on the chart

- `atrPeriod` (Integer): Average True Range (ATR) period for Supertrend calculation. Default is `10`.
- Determines the sensitivity of the Supertrend indicator

- `factor` (Float): Multiplier for ATR in Supertrend calculation. Default is `3.0`.
- Adjusts the volatility threshold for trend changes

- `sl` (Float): Stop Loss percentage. Default is `1.5%`.
- Defines the maximum loss percentage for a trade

- `tp` (Float): Take Profit percentage. Default is `3.0%`.
- Defines the target profit percentage for a trade

### Strategy Components

#### Entry Conditions
- `longCond`: Long entry condition
- Triggered when the strategy is on and Supertrend direction is positive (uptrend)
- Uses `strategy.entry()` to open a long position

- `shortCond`: Short entry condition
- Triggered when the strategy is on and Supertrend direction is negative (downtrend)
- Uses `strategy.entry()` to open a short position

#### Exit Conditions
- `strategy.exit()` for long positions
- Exits long trades with predefined Take Profit and Stop Loss percentages

- `strategy.exit()` for short positions
- Exits short trades with predefined Take Profit and Stop Loss percentages

### Technical Indicators

#### Supertrend Indicator
- Calculated using `ta.supertrend(factor, atrPeriod)`
- Returns two values:
1. `supertrend`: The Supertrend line
2. `direction`: Trend direction (1 for uptrend, -1 for downtrend)

### Example Configuration
```pine
//@version=5
strategy("VSVTrend Strategy",
overlay=true,
default_qty_type=strategy.percent_of_equity,
default_qty_value=10
)
// Custom configuration
show_strategy = input.bool(true)
use_supertrend = input.bool(true)
atrPeriod = input.int(10)
factor = input.float(3.0)
```

## Project Structure

The project consists of a single Pine Script file for a TradingView trading strategy. Here's a breakdown of the project structure:

### Repository Contents
- `VSVTrend.pine`: The primary Pine Script file containing the trading strategy implementation
- `LICENSE`: The license file defining the terms of use for the project
- `README.md`: Project documentation and overview

#### VSVTrend.pine
This is the core script that implements the trading strategy. It includes:
- Strategy configuration and input parameters
- Supertrend indicator implementation
- Entry and exit conditions for long and short trades
- Stop loss and take profit mechanism

#### File Type
- `.pine`: A Pine Script file used for creating custom trading strategies and indicators on TradingView
