What this adds

One row under General, in alphabetical position between Video Speed Controller and Vimium.

- [VidWords](https://vidwords.com/extension) - Captures the transcript of the YouTube video in the current tab and exports it as TXT, SRT, VTT or Word, including on videos whose YouTube transcript panel is missing.

Against the guidelines in contributing.md

  • Searched the list first — no existing entry for this or any other YouTube transcript extension.
  • Format is [Name](link) - Description.
  • Description starts with a capital, ends with a full stop, and does not begin with "A" or "An".
  • General is the closest category; it already holds the video-related entries (Video Speed Controller) and product-site links such as Toast.log.

What it does

It reads captions from the page's own context rather than from a server, which is why it still works where YouTube's transcript panel is unavailable. Output is TXT, SRT, VTT or Word.

Disclosure

I maintain VidWords. In-browser capture is free and unlimited, no card or account needed.
