Summary

Visual punch-up of the static landing (site/ only). Feedback was that v2 still read as a styled README / “no design.” This pass is a ground-up dark cinematic product page — not a dark-mode paint-over.

Do not merge until reviewed on the live Pages preview / local open of site/index.html.

Visual changes

  1. Dark-first stage — near-black ground (#07080b), machine panels (#0e1117), sticky glass header; no beige paper.
  2. Asymmetric hero — claim + dual CTA + fact strip left; dominant diagnostic window with traffic lights / tabs / gutter / amber find-row (fail · p=0.91) + peeking rule card right (≥720px split).
  3. Crafted product chrome — shared window system (titlebar, traffic lights, statusline); harness terminal, Neovim status+virt text, VS Code tabs+Problems as three equal framed client cards.
  4. Cost as machine card — scannable $0.00022 vs $0.00306 inside dark chrome, not a paper HTML table.
  5. Amber as signal only#f0b849 on CTA, eyebrow dot, find-row glow, marked cost cell; no large amber washes. Varied section rhythm (tall hero/proof → tighter not-chat/loop → clients → install).

Constraints kept

  • Static HTML/CSS only, no JS, no webfont CDN
  • Copy roughly as-is
  • HTML/CSS mocks only (no screenshot images)
  • Principles from opencode / herdr / onorca quality bar — not cloning their skins

Test plan

  • Open site/index.html locally (or Pages preview once enabled on branch)
  • Desktop ≥720px: hero split, mock dominates fold, amber find-row readable
  • Narrow: stacks cleanly; peeking rule card hidden; CTAs usable
  • Scan Cost / Clients / Start — feels like product demo, not README chapters

Ground-up visual redesign of the static landing: dark-first stage, asymmetric hero with overlapping machine windows, crafted editor chrome (traffic lights, tabs, gutter, amber find-row), cost as a machine card, and three equal client mocks. Amber stays diagnostic signal + primary CTA.
