Midnight is a privacy-enhancing blockchain that enables programmable privacy and selective disclosure through zero-knowledge proofs. It uses Halo2 as its proof system, and smart contracts are written in Compact, a domain-specific language that compiles to ZK circuits. Mainnet launched on March 30th, 2026.
