Changing Device UUID

New in v0.9.0 is the ability to rename your device to be a more recognisable name from the hex string or serial id.

Important

Changing the device UUID requires readding the device to the VACA integration and reconfiguring the accompanying View Assist instance/config.

If installing your device for the first time, before you add the device to the VACA integration, you can click on the Device UUID info on the screen and you will be presented with an edit box. For v0.12.0+, do this via the cog button on the waiting connection screen.

If you wish to change your Device UUID after you have already set it up, delete the entry from the VACA integration, which will take your device back to the 'Waiting connection' screen. Click the Device UUID and amend in the edit box. Then re-add your device to VACA.

You can manually amend the configuration in View Assist for this new device UUID or you can delete the View Assist entry also and re-add.
