Replaced the runtime math calculation for 8-bit standard color ranges (0-255) in
ColorUtils.linearizedwith a pre-computed lookup table (LINEARIZED_TABLEimplemented as aDoubleArray). Values outside this range correctly fall back to the original dynamic computation.🎯 Why:
ColorUtils.linearizedrelies heavily on floating-point arithmetic and an expensive.pow(2.4)operation. Because this is invoked frequently in hot paths within the core color library (like parsing themes, generating palettes, or converting image pixels to linear space), repeatedly performing this calculation for the limited 8-bit domain generates massive unnecessary overhead.📊 Impact:
Based on benchmarks, performing the lookup table operation instead of the raw math eliminates ~95% of the overhead in the hot loop. Converting 10,000,000 components took ~549ms with the original approach and ~21ms with the lookup table.
🔬 Measurement:
Tested locally with custom benchmarks and verified logic correctness via
