The sync-rush-versions.yml workflow was using a custom bot identity (dependabot-sync[bot]) for git commits. This changes it to the official Dependabot bot account so commits are properly attributed.

Changes:

  • Updated git config in "Commit changes" step:
    • user.name: dependabot-sync[bot] → dependabot[bot]
    • user.email: dependabot-sync[bot]@users.noreply.github.com → 49699333+dependabot[bot]@users.noreply.github.com

Commits made by this workflow will now appear with the official Dependabot bot avatar and identity.

Original prompt

Problem

In the file .github/workflows/sync-rush-versions.yml, the git configuration is currently using dependabot-sync[bot] for the user name and email when committing changes.

This should be changed to use the official Dependabot bot details instead.

Required Changes

Update the "Commit changes" step in .github/workflows/sync-rush-versions.yml:

Current:

git config --global user.name "dependabot-sync[bot]"
git config --global user.email "dependabot-sync[bot]@users.noreply.github.com"

Should be:

git config --global user.name "dependabot[bot]"
git config --global user.email "49699333+dependabot[bot]@users.noreply.github.com"

This ensures commits are properly attributed to the official Dependabot bot account.

  • Changed git user.email from dependabot-sync[bot]@users.noreply.github.com to 49699333+dependabot[bot]@users.noreply.github.com (official Dependabot user ID)
