Card trailers in commit messages are caught pre-push, not post-push — a .githooks/pre-push refusal, the Part-of: colon gap in check:partof-closing-keyword, and the gate's re-scope once the squash message comes from the PR body #17727
Filed by the director seat executing the maintainer's ruling A on #17606 + #15913 (2026-09-12, decision batch #116, 「其他同意」). domain:skills (the gate's SUBJECT is the card↔PR relation the PM loop governs); pm:queue; priority:p2 (each occurrence costs a full round — two measured on 2026-09-11, #17649 → #17653 and #17652). ⛔ Not claimed.
What is ruled
The repository's squash message will be sourced from the PR body (squash_merge_commit_message = PR_BODY; the maintainer's setting change is tracked on #17606 as pm:awaiting-maintainer). Once that lands, a card trailer inside a branch commit no longer reaches main — but the branch is still pushed with it, and check:partof-closing-keyword still reads the commit list and still goes red on a PR nobody can repair without a redo. The gate is a post-push detector for a pre-push mistake. This card moves the detection to where it is cheap.
Re-scope the PR-time gate after PR_BODY lands: check:partof-closing-keyword then judges the PR body (the text that will land) and no longer refuses a pushed branch on its commit list; until the setting flips, the gate stays as is and this card's pre-push check prevents the red from being reachable.
.claude/agents/os-dev.md gains one sentence pointing at the pre-push check (governed surface — human merge; keep it one line).
Acceptance
A branch pushed with Part of #N (space or colon) in any commit message is refused at push with the offending commit named; a clean branch pushes.
No change to what merges: the queue's required set is untouched.

Deliverables per the card and ruling A (5642107272): a pre-push refusal of card-relation trailers in commit messages (lit/dark self-test, the three measured substring traps pinned as must-pass), the Part-of: colon gap closed in partOfRe and the hook, RULE 2 re-scoped to the PR body now that objectstack squashes with PR_TITLE + PR_BODY (re-measured 01:28Z; objectui still COMMIT_MESSAGES — the ruling's exit condition names both repos, half met), and one sentence in os-dev.md paid by density at 403/403. PR-A (code, Part of #17727) lands via in-seat review → ready → queue; PR-B (os-dev.md, Fixes #17727) waits at the human terminal. ⚠️ The card carries no type — a triage gap recorded, ⛔ not graded by this seat. "summary": "All four deliverables shipped across two PRs by merge path. (1) scripts/check-commit-card-trailers.mjs refuses a push whose commits carry a card relation, called from .githooks/pre-push after the os-regen deferral check, which keeps its behaviour; it adds no grammar (the sweep extractors are imported at markdown:false) and adds one shape the card names, a bare reference in TRAILER position; 56 self-test cases over 8 floored batteries, including the three substring false positives the spec seat measured (a closed ten-member enum / findClosestMatches / fixture) pinned as must-stay-green. (2) The colon gap is closed in the shared grammar: partOfRe now reads Part-of, Part of:, Part-of: as well, partOfDeclarationRe follows it (its docblock declares it a strict subset), and refsRe takes the same colon; the widening is a strict superset, and a pinned case that asserted the gap was replaced. (3) check:partof-closing-keyword drops RULE 2 and its commit-list input, and the guard workflow drops the gather step and the pull-requests:read scope it needed, since squash_merge_commit_message is PR_BODY (re-measured by me on GET /repos/objectstack-ai/objectstack: PR_BODY + PR_TITLE); RULE 1 and RULE 3 are untouched and the header records where RULE 2 went and what a per-clone hook gives up. (4) os-dev.md gains the pointer at zero line cost. One premise of the card is off by attribution, not by substance: partOfRe lives in scripts/pm/check-half-states.mjs, not in the gate file the card names, so the fix had to land there (see deviations).",
"tests": "GATES — 71 derived commands (node scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs --commands --repo objectstack-ai/objectstack, re-derived on the final diff and reconciled: same 71 before and after the merge of origin/main), re-run in full on final head 929c205: 66 exit 0, 5 exit 3 = PREREQUISITE NOT MET / NOT MEASURED (check:dts-closure, check:dual-build-cjs-loads, check:lean-entry-closure, check:sourcemap-no-sources-content, check:type-check-debt — all five read dist and print 'Run pnpm build first. This is NOT a pass: nothing was measured'; my diff touches no package source, so the build closure of rule (1) is empty and CI builds them). Exit codes captured before any pipe. Named verdict lines: 'check-commit-card-trailers self-test: 56 cases pass' · 'check-partof-closing-keyword self-test: 45 cases pass' (was 82; RULE 2's four batteries moved out, roster and floor 16 to 10 updated in the same edit) · 'check-half-states self-test: 3616 cases pass' (was 3606: +11 added, 1 replaced) · 'check-closing-keyword-parity' production + self-test both exit 0, so the three registered parsers still agree and NO fourth grammar was introduced · 'check-nul-bytes: OK (scanned 8441 text file(s) ... no raw ASCII control bytes)' · 'check-self-test-wired' + workflow-commands exit 0, so the new self-test is CI-run (package.json check:commit-card-trailers, new lint.yml step) · check:pm-dispatch-gates 'dispatch-gates self-test: 1678 cases pass' EXIT=0 (run detached, exceeds the 600s foreground cap). Each dark leg was an empty commit removed with git reset --hard to the pushed tip. ABLATION (expected direction stated first: turn RED, i.e. the dark input passes) — driving the hook exactly as git drives it (stdin ref line plus the two argv), same dark specimen 7f864d86c: leg 1 with the scan present = hook exit 1 naming the commit and line; MUTATION proven on disk before the reading, invocations of check-commit-card-trailers.mjs in the hook 1 then 0, hook blob 12253771358eb7972e52aff63a2839e9fab988cb then 829de847cef48fca4bddf3db271e4c892b6a8a32; leg 2 with the scan gone = hook exit 0 with NO output, i.e. the dark push would have gone through — the red reading; RESTORE via git checkout HEAD -- the path, hash back to 1225377..., git diff HEAD empty, tip back to 929c205, git status clean. No build or dist is involved, so the dist preflight does not apply and the on-disk proof is the grep count plus the blob hashes. "noted, not filed: the residual the ruling chose — a pre-push hook is registered per clone (pnpm install, prepare, scripts/setup-git-hooks.mjs), runs on the pusher's machine and reports to nobody, so a clone that never installed pushes unchecked. Recorded in the script header and in PR-A's acceptance notes rather than filed: re-adding a PR-time commit-list read is what this card removes, and under PR_BODY that red would report a text that no longer lands. Successor that would touch it: any card widening hook coverage (an install-time assertion or a server-side check).",
"noted, not filed: refsRe carried the SAME colon gap as partOfRe (Refs: plus a number missed), and a pinned case in check-half-states asserted it as if it were a decision. Fixed in the same edit as a bounded in-place fix — same defect class, same grammar family, mechanical, one line plus three cases — rather than filed, because the pre-push check would otherwise ship with a hole of exactly the shape this card exists to close. It is beyond deliverable 2's literal wording (which names Part-of only), so it is called out here for the reviewing seat to drop if they disagree."

"deviations": [
"DECLARED SURFACE EXTENSION — scripts/pm/check-half-states.mjs (+60/-5) was outside the claim's file list and was unavoidable: the card places partOfRe in scripts/check-partof-closing-keyword.mjs, but that gate holds no grammar at all — it imports partOfTargets / refsTargets / closingKeywordTargets from the sweep, and check-closing-keyword-parity.mjs pins that exactly three registered parsers of this grammar exist and sweeps the tree for a fourth. Closing the colon gap anywhere else would have BEEN that fourth parser. Byte-minimality: 3 executable lines changed (partOfRe, partOfDeclarationRe, refsRe), 11 self-test cases added, 1 replaced; the remaining 46 added lines are docblock prose carrying the measurement and the strict-superset argument, per this file's own convention. partOfDeclarationRe had to move with partOfRe because its docblock declares it a strict subset — left behind, a declaration-position Part-of: would be graded 'part-of-inline'. Serial-chain note read and acknowledged (the card says #17564 is next on that file); nothing here touches the H-rows, only the three extractors and their fixtures.",
"PR-B rides a SECOND branch, claude/issue-17727-os-dev-pointer, off origin/main — the claim names one branch, and the dispatch requires two PRs by merge path (governed vs queue). The claim's branch is PR-A's and is unchanged.",
"check-partof-closing-keyword.mjs lost 688 lines net. Confirmed surviving intact: RULE 1 (h7, the body rule) and RULE 3 (h21) with their full self-test — 45 cases, every RULE 1 battery still declared and floored (the measured fenced/inline/prose arms, the three approved rewordings, the delegation pin that compares the gate's verdict against the shipped predicate over every fixture); the battery roster and its size floor were cut from 16 to 10 in the same edit, so the removal cannot read as batteries that stopped running. check-closing-keyword-parity.mjs production AND self-test both exit 0 on the final head: the three registered carriers are still registered and still agree, and the sweep finds no unregistered fourth.",
"The guard workflow lost its 'Gather the PR's commit messages' step, the PR_COMMITS_FILE env and the pull-requests:read scope — all three existed only for RULE 2, and deliverable 3 removes it. contents:read stays; the job name (the check-run name the required-context registry and the spec seat's table reference) is unchanged.",
"'--pair N' is not a flag of scripts/pm/check-governed-merges.mjs (it silently ran the full post-merge audit sweep, which exits 2 here because 4 governed sibling repos have no checkout in this container — a container limitation, not a verdict about these PRs). The flag belongs to scripts/pm/check-clause2-carriers.mjs; both PRs were run through it, exit 0. Reported rather than worked around.",
"5 of 71 derived gate commands are NOT MEASURED locally (exit 3, PREREQUISITE NOT MET — they read dist and this worktree has no build; the diff touches no package source, so the build closure is empty). CI builds and runs them.",
"os-dev.md's line budget was paid at ZERO line cost rather than by deleting content: the sentence rides the existing push line (403 lines before and after). The standing clause says the only legal currency for the line ratchet is deleting content and that a re-wrap must not buy a line for new content; neither was used, and the maintainer-only ceiling line is untouched."

ACCEPT — #17727, two PRs by merge path: PR #17745 (PR-A, code, head 929c205a) and PR #17752 (PR-B, .claude/agents/os-dev.md, head 78a56591); both reviewed in-seat at the contract-review tier (skills seat, session session_01MCLBsUgfykL74aU716rzVK, 2026-09-12T02:36Z).
Implemented-by: os-dev subagent on claude/issue-17727-card-trailers-pre-push (PR-A) and claude/issue-17727-os-dev-pointer (PR-B) — claim 5642558438, build tier opus (default; the one-line os-dev.md pointer under the tiering ruling's one-line exit), mode:subagent, report 5642873148. Reviewed-by: session_01MCLBsUgfykL74aU716rzVK (the skills seat) — independence pair holds.
Ruling A (The part-of gate prescribes a discharge the repo's merge settings make unreachable — squash lands COMMIT_MESSAGES, the gate requires PR_BODY #17606 + A claim corrected during review still ships in history: the squash message is built from commit messages, which no review round reads #15913, 5642107272) executed on the objectstack half as the card frames it: (1) a pre-push refusal of card relations in commit messages — scripts/check-commit-card-trailers.mjs called from .githooks/pre-push, judging exactly the commits a push would publish (local sha minus the remote sha minus every remote-tracking ref), NO new grammar (the three extractors are imported from the sweep at markdown: false; the parity gate still counts three parsers), plus the fourth shape the card names (a bare reference in trailer position; body prose deliberately untouched); the os-regen deferral limb of the hook keeps its behaviour; (2) the Part-of: colon gap closed in partOfRe / partOfDeclarationRe (strict superset, measured table in the PR body); (3) RULE 2 dropped from check:partof-closing-keyword with its commit-list gather step and the pull-requests: read scope, RULE 1 + RULE 3 intact (45 cases; roster floor 16 → 10 in the same edit), the job name unchanged; (4) the one os-dev.md clause at zero line cost (403/403; the push line 88 → 115 B under the 120-B convention) in PR-B.
Seat's own readings on head 929c205a (2026-09-12T02:32Z): raw NUL bytes on the four touched blobs = 0 (byte count with and without NUL identical; check-nul-bytes on the head tree prints OK over 8441 files); the first body line is Part of #17727 and the body carries no closing keyword; the reference face of RULE 2's input (PR_COMMITS_FILE, pr-commits.jsonl) on origin/main is the gate file and its workflow only (control: 1 hit in the gate file) ⇒ the deletion is dead after this PR; the guard workflow's job id and name (partof-closing-keyword / 「Part-of PR must not also close its card」) are unchanged at the head, so the required-context registry is untouched; --pair 17745 and --pair 17752 exit 0 per the report.
Adjacent in-place fix, accepted (four conditions): refsRe carried the same colon gap (Refs: #N missed) — same defect class, mechanical (one line + three cases, one flipped pin replaced with its reason), no lane card claims it (the lane queue read this shift names none), same gate family; the PR body names it with the before/after table. Beyond deliverable 2's literal wording; kept.
Seat's own hint corrected by the dev: --pair N is not a flag of check-governed-merges.mjs (it silently ran the full audit); the flag is the carriers check's. Recorded.
Evidence: 71 derived commands, 66 exit 0 and 5 exit 3 PREREQUISITE NOT MET (dist readers; the diff touches no package source), reconciled with --ran on the final diff; named verdict lines in the report; the live hook driven through git (LIT push clean; three DARK legs refused naming commit and line) and an ablation (hook scan removed ⇒ the dark push passes, restored by blob hash). CI on the head at the seat's read: TypeScript Type Check success; Lint & Repo Gates in_progress (30 success / 4 skipped / 1 in progress) — the ready flip waits for its success per true-green.md.
Boundaries recorded, not blocking: the hook is per-clone (a clone that never ran the install step pushes unchecked — the residual ruling A chose; noted in the script header); the self-test pins the quoted os-dev.md sentence verbatim, so editing that sentence reddens check:commit-card-trailers (a deliberate citation pin, and the path literal makes the gate a watch hint for cards touching that file); the escape hatch OS_ALLOW_CARD_TRAILER_PUSH=1 mirrors OS_SKIP_REGEN_CHECK; exit 2 (not judged) refuses the push by design.
objectui half of the ruling's exit condition is still open (its squash setting reads COMMIT_MESSAGES at 01:28Z) — the director seat verifies; ⛔ not this card's.
Landing plan: PR-A is pure code ⇒ ready flip once Lint & Repo Gates completes success on 929c205a, then auto-merge SQUASH through the queue; its Part of does not close this card. PR-B is governed ⇒ four-piece at the human terminal now (draft kept, needs-user-decision on the PR, 速读 comment, reviewers); its Fixes #17727 closes this card on the human merge. Landing record on this card after each merge; pm:dispatched + assignee cleared when PR-B lands.
Landing record — #17727 landed in two halves, both on origin/main at 813f8e9f (fetched 2026-09-12T03:11Z): PR #17745 (code) MERGED 2026-09-12T03:10:05Z through the merge queue by auto-merge as 5d66e388 (armed by this seat after the in-seat contract-tier review, ACCEPT 5642908905); PR #17752 (.claude/agents/os-dev.md, governed) MERGED 2026-09-12T03:10:05Z as 813f8e9f, merged by os-zhuang (the human merge is the review record; four-piece was on the PR). Content verified on origin/main by git, not by the API: .githooks/pre-push calls scripts/check-commit-card-trailers.mjs (1 hit; the script file 8 hits; package.json and lint.yml wired), PR_COMMITS_FILE is gone from scripts/check-partof-closing-keyword.mjs, and os-dev.md:277 carries 「…;pre-push 拒卡片 trailer。」; both merge shas are ancestors of origin/main. The card was closed completed by PR #17752's Fixes at 03:10:07Z. Residue cleared in this same act: pm:dispatched and the assignee removed (closed cards carry no pm-state; domain:* and priority stay). Follow-ups already recorded on the ACCEPT: the objectui half of ruling A's exit condition (its squash setting) is the director seat's to verify; the check-half-states.mjs chain advances to #17626. PR-A (code,Part of #17727) lands via in-seat review → ready → queue; PR-B (os-dev.md,Fixes #17727) waits at the human terminal.type— a triage gap recorded, ⛔ not graded by this seat.
LIVE, end-to-end through the real hook (core.hooksPath=.githooks): LIT — the branch's own two commits pushed clean, 'check:commit-card-trailers: 2 commit message(s) on this push carry no card relation'; DARK 1 — 'Part of #17727' refused, push exit 1, naming commit 1c4b62ca7 line 3; DARK 2 — the colon spelling 'Part-of: #17727' refused, naming commit 1bb31a97e line 3 (this is the form that passed before this PR); DARK 3 — a bare reference in trailer position ('Issue: ' plus the number) refused, naming commit d18d3e2d2 line 3. PR-B gates: 17 derived commands, all exit 0, including check:pm-skill-ratchet ('.claude/agents/os-dev.md is 403 lines (ceiling 403; headroom 0)') and check:pm-skill-id-lint; check:doc-formula-expressions first exited 3 PREREQUISITE NOT MET and exited 0 after building @objectstack/formula and @objectstack/lint under the verify lock (VERDICT command-exit 0, held 197s). NOT MEASURED, named: CI 'Lint & Repo Gates' on PR-A head 929c205 was in_progress at report time (30 check runs success, 4 skipped); the step that was red on the previous head was the raw control-byte guard, and check:nul-bytes is green locally on the pushed head. line_budget: .claude/agents/os-dev.md 403 before and 403 after (ceiling 403, headroom 0) — the sentence rides the existing push line, 88 to 115 bytes, under the file's 120-byte widest-line convention; nothing deleted, nothing re-wrapped, ceiling untouched. files_changed: PR-A 7 (.githooks/pre-push, .github/workflows/lint.yml, .github/workflows/partof-closing-keyword-guard.yml, package.json, scripts/check-commit-card-trailers.mjs, scripts/check-partof-closing-keyword.mjs, scripts/pm/check-half-states.mjs; +1019/-753) · PR-B 1 (.claude/agents/os-dev.md, +1/-1). Governed verdicts: PR-A face 'governed-surface predicate: 0 of 7 path(s) hit the register' / 'NOT governed — ordinary queue landing applies'; PR-B face '1 of 1 path(s) hit the register' / 'GOVERNED — a human merge is the review record for this PR' (exit 3).

Byte-minimality: 3 executable lines changed (partOfRe, partOfDeclarationRe, refsRe), 11 self-test cases added, 1 replaced; the remaining 46 added lines are docblock prose carrying the measurement and the strict-superset argument, per this file's own convention. partOfDeclarationRe had to move with partOfRe because its docblock declares it a strict subset — left behind, a declaration-position
Part-of:would be graded 'part-of-inline'. Serial-chain note read and acknowledged (the card says #17564 is next on that file); nothing here touches the H-rows, only the three extractors and their fixtures.","PR-B rides a SECOND branch, claude/issue-17727-os-dev-pointer, off origin/main — the claim names one branch, and the dispatch requires two PRs by merge path (governed vs queue).
