New how-to: How to review an AI-generated application change #81

Description

@hotlong

Why this is the first how-to

The corpus persuades but never teaches. There is no step-by-step content anywhere on the site, and AGENTS.md states plainly that "being correctly generatable by an AI decides adoption" — yet nothing demonstrates the workflow.

This particular how-to is first because it is the product's whole wedge made operational. AGENTS.md: "Lead with 'AI wrote it — can you review it and sign off?', not 'build faster.'" ai-wrote-your-app-dare-to-merge argues that this is the right question. Nobody has written the answer — what a reviewer actually looks at, in what order, and what makes a change safe to approve.

Dual payoff: humans search how-to queries, and a concrete worked review teaches models the shape of a correct ObjectStack change.

Deduplication — read these first

  • ai-wrote-your-app-dare-to-merge — poses the question. This post answers it. Link, do not restate.
  • give-your-agent-rules-for-governable-apps — input side (rules that produce reviewable output). This is the output side.
  • metadata-not-code-generation — why the diff is reviewable at all.

If after reading you conclude the practical content already exists in one of them, stop and report rather than shipping an overlap.

Target keyword

Primary: review ai generated code. Secondary: ai code review workflow, approve ai generated changes. Suggested slug: how-to-review-ai-generated-app-changes.

Shape

A real worked example, not advice in the abstract. Take an actual metadata change, show the diff, and walk the review: what to check first, what the validation gate already guarantees so you do not re-check it by hand, what it cannot catch, and what makes the change safe to merge.

The artifact is the point (AGENTS.md rule 5) — a checklist or an annotated diff a reader can use on their next PR is what makes this travel.

Standards

  • Answer in the first 100 words (rule 3).
  • Be honest about what review still cannot catch (rule 7). A how-to that implies review is now trivial will be disbelieved by exactly the senior reviewers this needs to convince.
  • CTA is "point your agent at ObjectStack" (rule 8), not only a CLI command.
  • Boundary with the docs site: canonical, versioned reference belongs in docs.objectos.ai (objectstack-ai/objectos). This is the narrative, search-targeted version and should link into the docs rather than duplicate them. If you find yourself writing reference material, that is a signal it belongs there instead — say so in your report.

Acceptance

pnpm content:lint, pnpm check, pnpm build, pnpm seo:smoke pass. English original only; locales are a separate pass.
