This library is objectively extremely cool and I CANNOT figure out why it's not already extremely popular. It's so cool. It also (for me) just worked(!?); which is always a bonus.

You've got some super-hot-fire stuff here. I work a lot on geo/mapping image processing which this is fantastic for.

You have no idea how happy this makes me!
I'm currently working on a parametric node-based image editor built on top of this library. It will let you use the entire library visually and then export the whole pipeline to Python code.
The real power will come when you can design visually and then iterate programmatically from Python. PyImageCUDA is just the foundation—the editor is where things get really interesting.

What're you building the gui with? Lmk if you wanna team up on something related. I think it would be really cool to apply it to some of the satellite imagery stuff I work on from a more artistic perspective.

Some sort of rasterio integration would be really nice so you can use this library but have rasterio continue to handle all the geo referencing.

Aside from it all working good, I think the context handler syntax was pretty funky at first but actually is really nice and elegant. It felt a bit alien to me at first if only because it was a mind shift from how I normally do image processing stuff.

I’m using PySide6 and my library as the only dependencies. I’d love it if you want to collaborate with me to add both the satellite stuff and anything in general - it’s a lot of work and all help is welcome.
Regarding the satellite thing, I have no idea about that field but it looks really interesting. We could make the program detect whether you have rasterio or not and be able to use it, that way we leave the main program without an extra dependency but at the same time we allow it for those who use rasterio.

About collaboration:

I'm very interested in working together on the satellite/rasterio integration. I'd make it an optional dependency, but I need your help understanding how that world works—I know nothing about geo/satellite stuff.

Beyond that, if you want to help with the project in general, that would be great too.
