Ignacio Oliú - Full Stack Developer

About me

Full-Stack Developer. I build the manufacturing software that runs factories. Barcelona, Spain.

I work across the stack in TypeScript, and down to the hardware on the production floor. At Wallbox I build and lead the manufacturing execution system (MES) behind EV-charger production: the apps operators use on the line, the services that talk to factory hardware, the integrations with ERP and telecom, and the on-premise infrastructure it all runs on.

Wallbox

Promoted in March 2026. I own the technical direction and the 2026 roadmap of the system, set engineering standards, review the team's work, and onboard and mentor developers.

My path here was not the standard one. I started in electrical engineering and spent several years in energy and industrial operations before moving into software. That is why I am comfortable on both sides of the wall: PLCs, RFID and industrial printers on one side, distributed services and web apps on the other.

Skills & Technologies

Manufacturing execution system. Multi-service architecture: central Node/Express API plus satellite services for hardware integration, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, deployed on-premise per factory.

Backend. Built two services from scratch and own them end to end: an RFID-reader integration service (raw TCP to REST, tracking carriers and serial IDs across the line) and an ERP work-order and recipe sync service.

Frontend. Primary developer on the operator-facing apps in Angular and Ionic: production-line screens, planning and plant-overview dashboards, end-of-line quality checks, recipe and configuration management.

Hardware integration. PLC communication over MQTT, RFID readers over raw TCP, end-of-line testing and firmware flashing flows.

Label engine. Dynamic label generation for industrial Zebra printers, barcodes and QR across chargers, subassemblies and packaging, with per-product configuration.

System integrations. NetSuite (ERP) work-order and recipe sync, 4G SIM activation for connected chargers.

Infrastructure and delivery. On-premise Proxmox environments running the company's on-prem services, high availability setup, Docker, Nginx, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, deployment and rollback flows for production lines that cannot afford downtime.

Reliability and observability. Structured logging and message-flow tracing, MQTT delay tracking, database optimization work that eliminated tens of millions of redundant queries. Leading the migration from legacy startup-era code to enterprise patterns.
