Table view: quick text filter across all columns #1881

Closed

Description

@michielbdejong

Follow-up to #1807 / PR #1820. In user testing, the tester read the table's filter as search. Michiel decided (25 Sep): yes, add a quick filter that matches text across all columns of the current table view.

Scope:

  • a search field in the table view's toolbar that filters the visible rows to those where any column's displayed value contains the text (case-insensitive);
  • it works with the existing column filters and sorting;
  • it's clearable, and resets when you leave the view (or is persisted per view; pick one and document it);
  • it works at phone width.
  • Tests: vitest for the matching (text, number, date as displayed, and references by title), and a component test for the toolbar.

    Picking this up (Claude, atomic-server worker). A PR against develop will follow.

    Implemented in #1894: a quick text filter in the table toolbar. It matches the displayed values across the visible columns, combines with column filters and sorting, and resets when you switch views (it isn't persisted).

    Michiel's decision: column totals (sum, average) follow the quick filter, reflecting the rows you see. It's being added to PR #1894.
