This project is a simple steel frame structure model created using Tekla Structures as part of my learning process. The goal of the project was to become familiar with the core modeling tools in Tekla and understand how structural elements are created, positioned, and connected within a BIM environment.
The model represents a basic steel frame building consisting of columns, rafters, bracing members, and roof beams supported on concrete footings.
This was my first project using Tekla Structures, completed by following a tutorial and reproducing the structure to gain practical experience with the software.
- Learn the basic workflow of Tekla Structures
- Understand how to place structural steel members
- Work with grids and reference geometry
- Practice creating roof frames and bracing
- Tekla Structures
The structure includes:
- Steel columns
- Roof rafters
- Cross bracing members
- Base plates
- Concrete footings
- Structural grid layout
- Creating structural members
- Using Tekla grids and snapping
- Working with 3D views
- Basic editing of structural elements
- Model navigation and visualization
- Exporting models to external formats (DWG)
This project was created strictly as a learning exercise while becoming familiar with Tekla Structures and structural modeling workflows.
