For your reading convenience Rendered version of the docsReturns the stale key and data, if any, which would be overwritten by inserting using this This situation arises if the stale key was removed from the primary map, and a subsequent insert into the primary map reused the slot.

I wasn't sure about the name.
remove_stale_entrymaybe makes it seem like this is a cleanup function you are supposed to call. I consideredextract_stale_entry. I'm also not sure aboutentry. Maybe justextract_stale.If you like this, I will provide an implementation for sparse secondary maps too.
