PassKey v1.0.7 and v1.0.8 crashed silently on every HVCI-enabled system (most Windows 11 + TPM PCs) because WindowsAppSDKSelfContained=true bundled Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll from NuGet. Windows Code Integrity rejects these copies (0xc000027b) since they are not in the Windows system catalog. Fix: - Remove WindowsAppSDKSelfContained from PassKey.Desktop.csproj; publish folder no longer contains Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll - Add Bootstrap.Initialize(0x00010008) in Program.cs to activate the system- installed Windows App Runtime 1.8 (required for unpackaged apps with custom Main) - Bundle WindowsAppRuntimeInstall-x64.exe (v1.8.260101001) in Inno Setup; installed silently with --quiet + waituntilterminated before PassKey launches - Add Installer/Download-Runtime.ps1 to fetch the redistributable (excluded from git via .gitignore because it exceeds GitHub''s 100 MB file limit) Build: 0 errors, 0 warnings | Tests: 176/176 | Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll: absent from publish Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
