PinBoard: Pinterest Board Downloader

Save and back up your Pinterest boards locally.

Download full-resolution images, GIFs, and videos from your Pinterest boards. Runs entirely on your computer, no proxies, no cloud, no data collection.

Download & Install

Go to the Releases page and download the latest version for your system:

https://github.com/pinboardapp/pinboard/releases/latest

Scroll down to the Assets section at the bottom of the release page. Click the file for your system:

  • macOS (Apple Silicon): PinBoard-x.x.x-arm64.dmg
  • macOS (Intel): PinBoard-x.x.x-x64.dmg
  • Windows: PinBoard Setup x.x.x.exe (x64)
  • Linux: PinBoard-x.x.x.AppImage (x64)

Always download from the latest release to ensure you have the newest version and fixes.


System Requirements

  • macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or newer
  • Intel or Apple Silicon Mac
  • Windows 10 or newer (x64)
  • Linux x64 (AppImage, most modern distributions)

macOS

  1. Download the correct file for your system:
    • Apple Silicon: PinBoard-x.x.x-arm64.dmg
    • Intel Macs: PinBoard-x.x.x-x64.dmg
  2. Open the .dmg file
  3. Drag PinBoard into your Applications folder
  4. Open PinBoard

macOS will show a security warning the first time because the app is not code-signed yet.

To open it:

  • Click Done
  • Open System Settings
  • Go to Privacy & Security
  • Scroll down
  • Click Open Anyway
  • Enter your password

This only needs to be done once.


Windows

  1. Download PinBoard Setup x.x.x.exe
  2. Run the installer
  3. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC"
  4. Click More info
  5. Click Run anyway

The app will install normally.


Linux

  1. Download PinBoard-x.x.x.AppImage
  2. Right-click the file → PropertiesPermissions → check Allow executing file as program (or run chmod +x PinBoard-*.AppImage in a terminal)
  3. Double-click the file to run PinBoard

No installation needed, the AppImage runs directly. You can move it anywhere you like.

Works on most distributions including Ubuntu, Fedora, and others.


How to Use

  1. Open PinBoard

  2. Paste a Pinterest board URL
    Example:
    https://www.pinterest.com/username/board-name/

  3. Click Load Board

  4. Select Images, GIFs, or Videos

  5. Click Download

That's it.

No DevTools. No manual setup.

  • Click Sign in to Pinterest
  • Log in normally
  • Download your private boards

Your login happens directly with Pinterest. PinBoard never sees or stores your password.
