Tremvia turns an Android phone into a vibration and noise meter specifically for the Midea Portasplit air conditioner. Lay the phone on the unit, run a guided test, and Tremvia measures how much the unit shakes and how loud it is across its fan and compressor states — then lets you compare your Portasplit against others on a shared dashboard.
It is built for this one model: the guided test, the automatic LAN control, and the measurement steps are all tailored to the Midea Portasplit and are not meant for other air conditioners.
The name comes from tremor + via — "the path through the vibration."
- A Midea Portasplit air conditioner with the Wi-Fi module set up.
- The AC and your phone on the same Wi-Fi network — Tremvia finds the unit on the local network and drives it through its states automatically (no cloud, no remote control needed).
- An Android phone (see requirements below) that you can lay flat on the indoor unit during the test.
- Download Tremvia.apk.
- On your phone, open the file (Files app → Downloads) and tap Install.
- If prompted, allow installation from this source ("unknown sources").
- Open Tremvia and follow the guided test.
Requirements: Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer. Grants a microphone permission (used for the noise measurement); motion sensors need no permission.
- Vibration — RMS of the raw accelerometer in mg (milli-m/s²) plus the dominant frequency (FFT).
- Noise — relative sound level (dBFS) and a live log-frequency spectrogram (20 Hz – 15 kHz).
- Compressor signature — magnetometer-based, to tell compressor RPM from fan speed.
The app guides you through a baseline plus a fan/compressor sweep, shows a live readout and spectrogram, and can upload the results for comparison.
- Sound levels are uncalibrated — for relative comparison only. Results depend on phone placement and the device's sensors; treat the numbers as indicative.

- Schallpegel sind nicht kalibriert — nur für den relativen Vergleich. Die Ergebnisse hängen von der Platzierung des Handys und seinen Sensoren ab; verstehe die Werte als Anhaltspunkt, nicht als absolute Größe.
