I would be nice to be able to record the max of a session.
When trying to sound proof a device (say an engine), one would use audio meter to record the max and the average reading during a certain time (say 10 seconds), then sound proof the device and use audio meter again to record the max and average reading again. And then compare the values during the 2 sessions.
