blacklight

Attackers have agents. Defenders still have grep. blacklight is the counter.

A portable bash wrapper directed by a skills-native Managed Agent, supercharging fifteen years of Linux OSS defensive primitives — iptables, mod_security, ClamAV, LMD, APF, YARA, Apache logs, .htaccess walks, crontab audits — at agent speed. No platform buy-in. No fleet migration. No analyst retraining. Man-days of incident response become agentic-minutes on the substrate the defender already owns.

Hackathon build started 2026-04-21 19:48 CT. Built with Opus 4.7 — Anthropic Claude Code hackathon, hosted by Cerebral Valley, April 21–26 2026. Event page: https://cerebralvalley.ai/e/built-with-4-7-hackathon

Clean-room build. License: GPL v2 — matches the existing defensive OSS portfolio (LMD, APF, BFD).

Architecture, command reference, and try-it path: DESIGN.md. Pivot rationale and long-range plan: PIVOT-v2.md.

This README is a placeholder during the v2 rewrite. Full public-face documentation — hero pitch, demo video, "Why Managed Agents", "Why Opus 4.7 + 1M", competitive positioning, skills-architecture reference, try-it walkthrough, model-choice rationale — lands at submission on Sunday 2026-04-26 16:00 EDT.

About

The future is Mythos-class agents that take vuln-to-exploits from days to hours, Linux defense is still stuck at human speed. Blacklight is the agentic counter-measure: a skills-native Managed Agent that directs OSS defensive primitives at the speed of the attack. GPL v2. (Opus 4.7 hackathon)
