BeaconWarden

Finally, enterprise asset management for the 19,000 lighthouses nobody is tracking

BeaconWarden gives maritime authorities real-time lifecycle visibility over every navigational aid on a coastline — fog horns, LANBY buoys, sector lights, cardinal marks, all of it. It ingests IALA standards directly, calculates maintenance windows against tidal exposure cycles, and fires alerts the moment a light goes dark before any inspection schedule would have caught it. This software will prevent maritime incidents. Full stop.

Features

  • Full asset registry for navigational aids across an entire coastal jurisdiction
  • Tidal exposure engine calculates corrosion risk across 47 distinct material classifications
  • Native IALA e-NAV data ingestion with automatic schema reconciliation
  • Integrates with existing VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) platforms for live incident correlation
  • Maintenance window scheduling that actually accounts for spring tide access windows. Something no one else does.

Supported Integrations

IALA e-NAV API, MarineTraffic, Admiralty Digital Services, TideStream Pro, CoastGuard Ops Suite, Salesforce Field Service, PagerDuty, SeaVault MMS, AWS IoT Core, NavSync Enterprise, Trimble Marine, BuoyNet

Architecture

BeaconWarden is built as a set of loosely coupled microservices — an ingestion layer, a lifecycle engine, an alert dispatcher, and a reporting surface — all communicating over an internal event bus. Asset state is persisted in MongoDB, which handles the write volume from continuous sensor polling without breaking a sweat. The tidal calculation engine runs as an isolated service in its own container so I can update the tide models without touching anything else. Every component is stateless except the ones that need to be.
