TantalumTrace

Know exactly which conflict zone funded your circuit board, before the SEC does.

TantalumTrace automates Dodd-Frank Section 1502 and EU Conflict Minerals Regulation compliance for electronics manufacturers — the kind of compliance that used to eat six weeks and three consultants. It ingests supplier CMRTs in bulk, cross-references every smelter against the RMI RMAP database in real time, and auto-drafts your annual SEC conflict minerals disclosure before your legal team even knows there was a deadline. This is the tool that should have existed ten years ago.

Features

  • Bulk CMRT ingestion with automatic field normalization across every revision of the template going back to v4.0
  • Real-time smelter cross-referencing against the RMI RMAP conformant smelter list, updated within 48 hours of any published change
  • Full 3TG chain-of-custody tracing — tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold — mapped to country of origin with source confidence scoring
  • High-risk node flagging with drill-down audit trails that hold up under actual SEC scrutiny, not just internal review
  • Auto-generated evidence packages, ready for external audit. One button.

Supported Integrations

Supplier.io, RMI RMAP API, SAP Ariba, Assent Compliance, EDGAR Direct Filer, SourceMap, Coupa, ChainPoint, Diligence360, Salesforce Supplier Portal, TradeLens, IHS Markit Supply Chain

Architecture

TantalumTrace is built as a set of decoupled microservices — ingestion, enrichment, risk scoring, and report generation each run independently and communicate over a message queue, so a backlog of 10,000 CMRTs doesn't stall your dashboard. Supplier records and full audit trails are persisted in MongoDB, which handles the document-heavy nature of CMRT data without making me fight a schema every time the template revision changes. The RMAP cross-reference layer caches conformant smelter lists in Redis for long-term storage and diff tracking across publication cycles. The frontend is a single-page app that talks to a thin API gateway — nothing fancy, everything intentional.
