Project Overview

Flip is a full-stack, all-in-one productivity web app built with Next.js. It integrates essential tools like a digital clock, stopwatch, countdown timer, to-do list, and notes. Additionally, the app supports Google Authentication via NextAuth, ensuring secure login functionality. The backend uses Next.js API routes with MongoDB for data storage.

• Stopwatch: A fully functional stopwatch with start, stop, and reset capabilities.
• Countdown Timer: A customizable countdown timer for tasks or events.
• To-Do List: Manage your tasks with an easy-to-use interface that allows adding, editing, and deleting tasks.
• Notes: Create, edit, and organize your notes, categorized for better productivity.
• Google Authentication: Sign in securely using your Google account through NextAuth.

Installation and Setup

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/your-username/flip-productivity-app.git

2. Navigate into the project folder:

   cd flip-productivity-app

3. Install the dependencies:

   npm install

4. Set up your environment variables:

   • Create a .env.local file in the root directory.
   • Add the following environment variables:

     NEXTAUTH_SECRET=your_secret
     GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID=your_google_client_id
     GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET=your_google_client_secret
     MONGODB_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
     

5. Run the development server:

   npm run dev

   Open http://localhost:3000 to view the app.

API Routes

• /api/auth: Handles authentication via NextAuth.
• /api/todos: Manages to-do list CRUD operations.
• /api/notes: Manages notes CRUD operations.

Future Enhancements

• Add reminder notifications for to-dos and countdowns.
• Integrate calendar features to manage events.
• Implement more authentication methods (e.g., GitHub, Twitter).
