About me

My name is Skyler Blue Spillers. I am a software engineer, technology founder, author, chess player, and lifelong learner based in Northwest Arkansas. My work sits at the intersection of software development, artificial intelligence, cloud systems, cybersecurity, blockchain, automation, education, entrepreneurship, and creative writing.

I am interested in more than individual technologies. I am interested in how systems affect people: how software shapes opportunity, how data influences identity, how automation changes responsibility, and how technology can either widen access or make existing barriers harder to see.

My professional goal is to become a future-focused technology leader who can take a difficult idea from concept to architecture, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and continuous improvement. I enjoy the entire lifecycle of building: understanding a problem, designing a system, writing the code, finding what breaks, learning from the failure, and making the next version more useful.

Build with purpose. Keep learning. Take responsibility for what you create.

My background

My path has not been perfectly linear. It has included work, education, customer service, leadership, software development, independent study, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, AI, writing, and many attempts to build something better than the version before it.

I have worked in environments that taught me practical lessons about reliability, communication, operations, teamwork, quality, and responsibility. Those lessons matter to me because technology is never only technical. A system can be elegant and still fail the people who depend on it. A product can be ambitious and still need better documentation, clearer boundaries, and more honest communication.

I am continuing my education in information technology and software development while building an independent portfolio of technical and creative work. My learning has included software engineering, cybersecurity, programming, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, DevOps, and hands-on development through structured courses and independent projects.

What I do

Software engineering

I build and study full-stack applications, developer tools, APIs, infrastructure, interfaces, databases, automation systems, and technical documentation. I care about the details that determine whether a project remains understandable after the first version is complete.

My engineering interests include:

  • Full-stack application architecture.
  • TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, and SQL.
  • REST APIs, application design, component systems, and data modeling.
  • Testing, validation, observability, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Git, GitHub, CI/CD, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
  • Clear documentation, reproducible workflows, and evidence-based improvement.

Artificial intelligence

I explore AI assistants, intelligent automation, AI orchestration, applied machine intelligence, creative tools, education, and systems that help people access information and complete difficult work. I am especially interested in the boundary between automation and human judgment.

My view is that AI should not simply be impressive. It should be useful, understandable, responsible, and designed with awareness of its limitations. The most important question is often not whether a system can produce an answer, but whether people understand when that answer should be questioned.

Cloud and DevOps

I study the systems that allow software to move from a local idea into a reliable service. That includes infrastructure, deployment, runtime configuration, monitoring, backups, release processes, validation, dependency management, and operational documentation.

I enjoy improving the space between “it works on my machine” and “other people can depend on it.”

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is part of my technical journey because every system has boundaries, assumptions, and potential failure modes. My focus is on defensive engineering, secure configuration, authentication, authorization, responsible research, application security, dependency review, security awareness, and ethical development.

I believe security is not a final feature added after a product is built. It is part of architecture, communication, maintenance, and trust.

Blockchain and digital systems

I explore blockchain applications, digital assets, wallet infrastructure, token systems, multi-chain architecture, developer tooling, and the relationship between software, value, identity, and ownership. These areas raise important questions about trust, usability, governance, security, and the difference between technical possibility and responsible design.

Entrepreneurship and initiatives

I am building an independent technology ecosystem through projects associated with Innovative Information Technology Resolutions, or IITR. The broader vision combines software engineering, AI, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, automation, education, blockchain, and technology services.

SKYCOIN4444

SKYCOIN4444 explores blockchain, AI, digital assets, wallet infrastructure, software platforms, developer tooling, and related technical experiments. The work is organized as a growing portfolio rather than a single finished product.

HopeAI

HopeAI represents my interest in useful artificial intelligence, intelligent assistants, automation, education, creative tools, and technology that expands access to knowledge and opportunity.

SkySchool

SkySchool represents the education side of my technology vision: courses, curriculum, quizzes, certifications, learning dashboards, and accessible technology education.

SkyHope

SkyHope represents the community and human-centered side of my work. It is based on the belief that technology should ultimately serve people, create opportunity, and support compassion rather than treating people as data points.

Other project areas

My broader portfolio includes experiments and ideas related to software platforms, cloud systems, cybersecurity, digital assets, education, communication, automation, marketplaces, developer tools, chess, creative technology, and artificial intelligence.

Some repositories are prototypes. Some are research projects. Some are historical snapshots. Some are active engineering work. I try to describe that difference honestly.

Education and continuous learning

I believe education is a lifelong process. My learning has included information technology, software development, cybersecurity, programming, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, DevOps, and independent software engineering practice.

I have pursued structured education as well as hands-on learning through building. Codecademy, independent study, technical documentation, project work, debugging, code review, and repeated experimentation have all contributed to how I learn.

My personal formula is:

Learn → Build → Test → Fail → Understand → Improve → Share

A certificate can open a door. Practice teaches you how to walk through it.

Chess and strategic thinking

Chess is an important part of how I think. It has taught me to recognize patterns, plan beyond the immediate move, manage risk, study consequences, adapt when a position changes, and learn from mistakes without allowing one mistake to define the entire game.

Those lessons influence my approach to software architecture and entrepreneurship. A system is a position. Dependencies are pieces. Technical debt is a position that has been ignored for too long. The next move matters, but so does understanding what the next several moves make possible.

Family, service, and values

I am a father, and family is one of the reasons I care about building work that lasts. I want the things I create to reflect perseverance, responsibility, learning, compassion, opportunity, and hope.

Service has also influenced my perspective. Experiences connected to community support, volunteering, leadership, and working directly with people have reinforced a lesson that technical work can sometimes hide: every system eventually meets a human being with limited time, incomplete information, and real consequences.

My values are practical rather than ornamental:

  • Tell the truth about what a system can and cannot do.
  • Protect people’s dignity when solving technical problems.
  • Document decisions so others can understand them.
  • Treat mistakes as evidence for improvement, not as reasons to hide.
  • Build opportunities rather than only building complexity.
  • Keep learning when the first answer is not enough.

Writing and the book

Writing is a second way I investigate systems. Software asks how something works. Fiction asks what it feels like to live inside it.

My current novel is Loathing in the Woes of Ruthlessness: The Chosen One. It is a fictional literary psychological techno-thriller exploring technology, identity, evidence, consent, power, resilience, accountability, and the danger of turning survival into a mythology of authority.

The book is one part of my larger creative and technical portfolio. It gives me room to explore questions that do not fit neatly into source code: what happens when a person becomes a symbol, whether uncertainty can be faced without inventing a culprit, and how someone can survive darkness without becoming the darkness.

Engineering philosophy

I do not believe every project needs to become a massive platform. I believe every project deserves an honest description, an appropriate level of care, and a clear understanding of what it is meant to do.

My working principles are:

  1. Evidence over assumption. Record what happened, what was tested, and what remains unknown.
  2. Security by default. Design boundaries before problems force them into existence.
  3. Documentation as engineering. A system is not complete if nobody can understand how or why it works.
  4. Human responsibility. Tools can recommend; people remain accountable for consequential decisions.
  5. Modularity. Build systems that can be improved without being destroyed.
  6. Continuous improvement. A first version is a beginning, not a verdict.

Final note

I am still becoming the person and builder I want to be. I am still learning, still writing, still testing ideas, still making mistakes, and still trying to make the next decision more honest than the last one.

The goal is not to look finished. The goal is to keep building work that is useful, meaningful, responsible, and capable of helping someone else take a better next step.

Build purposefully. Learn continuously. Leave something meaningful behind.
