omacase outdated still prints only the Homebrew outdated count. lib/update.sh already has the comment:
Future: add omacase self-updates here once omacase ships versioned releases
(compare VERSION to the latest tag) and fold into the count.
#31 adds _latest_release_tag and update --check. Folding "payload is behind the latest v*" into the same number (or printing a second line) means menu bars / LaunchAgents that already call omacase outdated start showing self-updates with no new surface.
On OMACASE_CHANNEL=dev, keep the brew-only count (or show commits behind @{u}) so maintainer machines are not noisy.
