- data-start.xlsx — the single hands-on workbook. Every dataset is a real Excel Table (InvoiceRegister, ExpenseMemos, APMonthly, RegionalSummary, QuarterlyTrend), so structured references and auto fill-down work as demoed. InvoiceRegister dates are planted so five open invoices flag "Due soon" (due within 15 days of the Aug 10, 2026 session): INV-1003, INV-5540, INV-5541, INV-9001 (messy 8/12/2026 format on purpose), INV-4402
- Regional-Review-Transcript.docx (Reference-Files/) — dummy transcript of the FY2026 mid-year regional review call, attached in Copilot chat for Bonus B. Replaces the old style guide: it changes the substance of the answer (one-time $600K West contract, planned Midwest distributor exit, Northeast timing slip, Mountain organic growth), not just the formatting. Bonus B uses the management-review prompt (3 bullets: ahead/behind, drivers, anything that could mislead a reader) before and after attaching — same prompt, different answer
All exercise data lives in one workbook, data-start.xlsx. The transcript is a reference document (something you attach in Copilot chat), not data.
The =COPILOT() worksheet function is vanilla: on recalc it sees only your prompt text plus the cell ranges you pass it. Personalization, Workbook Rules, Skills, and reference files shape the Copilot chat/agent experience, not the function. So the bonus demos use the Copilot chat on the RegionalSummary tab, and the Part 3 function demo inlines its rules directly in the prompt.
Core content runs 2:00–2:50 (2 welcome + 3 agenda/access check + 5 + 12 + 12 + 10 + 6 min). The bonus (slides 17–20) is optional: expand it if the demos run fast, skip it if you're behind.
Demo-driven and watch-first: watching counts, and everything is replayable from the take-home files. Microsoft Copilot only today for ease of access — Anthropic (Claude for Excel) and OpenAI have their own growing Excel stacks, and the patterns transfer. =COPILOT() is in beta and many attendees won't have it; many won't have Copilot chat at all. All expected, all handled on slides 4–5 — never apologize for access after that.
