These materials are still in development. Files, examples, code, pacing, and folder contents may change as the sessions are finalized and delivered. If you're using anything here before the corresponding live session has taken place, treat it as a working draft and proceed accordingly.
Four free live sessions on Python in Excel, built around the book Python in Excel for Data Analytics (Packt) by George Mount. Recordings, workbooks and code for every session are posted, free, at Python in Excel for Analysts: The Free Sessions on Gumroad. Live dates and registration: stringfestanalytics.com/events.
| # | Session | Length | What you'll see |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Python in Excel: A working tour for Excel analysts | 45 min | Your first Python cell, your first DataFrame, and two things Excel couldn't do last year. |
| 2 | Python in Excel: Charts and exploration Excel can't do alone | 45 min | Get a Python chart out of the cell, then make five more Excel can't. |
| 3 | Python in Excel: From trendline to real forecast | 45 min | A statistical test, a regression, and a seasonal forecast, and how to tell if they're any good. |
| 4 | Python in Excel: 10,000 what-ifs | 45 min | Monte Carlo simulation, worksheet cells that drive Python, and comparing decisions on the same futures. |
Every session is 45 minutes and every cell is typed together: 7 to 9 short cells per session, one idea each, almost all 1 to 6 lines, about 3 to 4 minutes per cell including the run and the look. Nothing is demo-only and there is no AI or Copilot content in any session. The book has everything we cut, and each deck ends with a "what else is in the book" slide that says so. If a session runs long, drop the last cell of the current part, never the close (the close carries the book teaser, the book, and the free-sessions link).
