The intention was to give users an additional way to sign in to ulogs.org and use it besides steemconnect. While steemconnect is our main control centre for using ulogs.org, we want to have alternative control center in the form of keychain for those who may be fond of using keychain. Keychain isnt available on mobile and not everyone likes browser extensions, so keychain takes a secondary role. Basically, when user decides to login using keychain, keychain now takes control and verifies all blockchain transactions via ulogs.org e.g vote, follow, transfer, unvote, comment etc
However, when user logs in via the primary method which is steemconnect, everything works under the control of steemconnect like is already the case.
