…690) It turns out that for some patterns like { 01 ?? ?? 02 } the number of atoms extracted from the pattern was simply to high and did more harm than good. In this case it's better to have a single 1-byte atom (01 or 02) than 65536 four byte atoms (01 XX XX 02).
