Doesn't open on a fresh install of the program on CachyOS

i installed it with the terminal command, and when i go to open it i just see a blank screen, then it closes and opens again to a blank screen.

im not sure where the logs are, but i could send those if needed

heres my system specs:
OS: CachyOS x86_64
Kernel: Linux 7.2.2-1-cachyos
Shell: fish 4.8.1
DE: KDE Plasma 6.7.4
WM: KWin (Wayland)
Terminal: konsole 26.8.0
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (16) @ 5.05 GHz
GPU 1: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX [Discrete]
Memory: 32GB

I also tried launching the appimage with this command:

/usr/local/bin/omnyssh --appimage-extract-and-run

and it failed with these errors:

Could not create default EGL display: EGL_BAD_PARAMETER. Aborting...
OmnySSH: the interface never loaded — restarting once with software rendering
Could not create default EGL display: EGL_BAD_PARAMETER. Aborting...

On lauching the AppImage, I'm getting the following error on Nobara 44 (Fedora Core 44):

Could not create surfaceless EGL display: EGL_BAD_ALLOC. Aborting...

And OmnySSH never starts

Same crash on AMD Strix Halo (Radeon 8060S) + Mesa 26.2.2 + CachyOS.

@bafforosso: your EGL_BAD_ALLOC on Nobara is the same root cause (EGL init failure on newer AMD GPU/driver), just a different error code from Mesa.

System:

• GPU: AMD Radeon 8060S (radeonsi/ACO)
• Mesa: 26.2.2
• Kernel: 7.2.5-cachyos
• Session: KDE Plasma 6 Wayland

Root cause: The AppImage bundles an older WebKitGTK that cannot initialize EGL on modern AMD Radeonsi drivers. I verified the system WebKitGTK 2.52.6 works fine in isolation. The bundled bundle is ABI-locked — swapping only libwebkit2gtk.so.0 into the bundle fails with undefined symbol: gst_debug_log_id because it expects an older GStreamer.

Recommendation: rebuild AppImage with WebKitGTK ≥2.52.
