🎯 What: Extracted the inline HTML structures within CommandPalette into smaller, well-named functional helper components (CommandPaletteOverlay, CommandPalettePanel, CommandPaletteInput, CommandPaletteList, and CommandPaletteItem).

💡 Why: The CommandPalette function was overly long and complex, mixing state management with deep DOM nesting. Extracting these structures improves readability, makes the file easier to digest, and improves maintainability by isolating the UI components from the main logic container.

Verification: Verified the refactoring is safe by:

  • Confirmed all props, keys, and inline styles are preserved exactly.
  • Ran the full test suite (bun test) which passed successfully.
  • Validated the formatting with bun x prettier --write.
  • Ensured zero linting warnings/errors via bun x oxlint.

Result: The CommandPalette function is now much shorter and its structural composition is immediately clear, resolving the code health issue.

Note

Low Risk
Presentational refactor with no API or logic changes beyond component structure; low risk unless consumers relied on undocumented DOM shape.

Overview
Refactors CommandPalette by splitting its monolithic JSX into five file-local helpers (CommandPaletteOverlay, CommandPalettePanel, CommandPaletteInput, CommandPaletteList, CommandPaletteItem) while keeping state, filtering, focus overlay behavior, and the public CommandPaletteProps API unchanged.

The main export now composes those pieces instead of inlining markup; props, data-ms hooks, ARIA, and inline styles are preserved so behavior and styling should match the previous implementation.

Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit 666e20b. Configure here.

Extracted inline HTML structures into smaller, reusable helper components (`CommandPaletteOverlay`, `CommandPalettePanel`, `CommandPaletteInput`, `CommandPaletteList`, and `CommandPaletteItem`) to significantly improve the readability and maintainability of the `CommandPalette` component without altering any existing functionality or styling.
