Hermes Novel Writing Rules

Reusable writing workflow and CASE files for Hermes-based novel projects.

• case/: the live CASE entrypoint, checklist, and conditional rule files.

This repository intentionally excludes project manuscripts, character records, worldbuilding, chapter indexes, session templates, and project-state files. The included case-characters-world.txt is a generalized version that requires each consuming project to provide its own declared sources of truth.

Installation

1. Install SKILL.md and references/ as the Hermes novel-writing-session skill.
2. Copy the contents of case/ into the root of the target novel project.
3. In that project, provide the project-specific state, routing, characters, worldbuilding, and timeline files referenced by its own startup template.

The CASE files remain the writing rules; SKILL.md supplies workflow and conditional reference routing.

Scope

Rules cover continuity, perspective, scene structure, sensory integration, dialogue and sound state, style, and conditional scene-specific checks. They are not prose templates and must not be copied into manuscript text.
