Full transcripts can bloat context and might not always be required. Majority of times we want the user intention hidden in the prompt, so we only need the user messages part of the transcript or the prompt behind the line edit (last prompt before the edit). So we should allow for prompt only context retrieval rather than transcript (summaries that use that only).
