WMS Lite (Warehouse Management System)

WMS Lite is an internal web application built for managing warehouse stock movements, rack/bin locations, receiving workflows (Penerimaan Barang), and inter-warehouse transfers (Mutasi Antar Gudang). It replaces physical whiteboard tracking and manual spreadsheet reconciliations with real-time server-rendered updates.

Designed specifically for internal corporate IT operations, WMS Lite provides warehouse operators and logistics staff with instant visibility into stock availability, FIFO rack picking suggestions, damaged item quarantine tagging, and stock opname reconciliation.

Features

  • Multi-Warehouse Bin Mapping: Rack and bin location layout management with visual fill percentage indicators.
  • Goods Receiving (Penerimaan Barang): Log partial or full incoming purchase order deliveries with lot/batch tags.
  • Quality Inspection & Quarantine: Tag damaged or expired items directly into quarantine bins during receiving.
  • Goods Issuing (Pengeluaran Barang): Pick list generation with automated First-In, First-Out (FIFO) location recommendations.
  • Inter-Warehouse Transfer (Mutasi Antar Gudang): Request, approve, and track multi-stage transfers between corporate facilities.
  • Stock Opname Cycle: Create physical count audits, record discrepancies, and log reconciliation entries.
  • Live Search & HTMX Updates: Fast server-driven filtering for stock lookup across warehouses without full page reloads.
  • Batch Adjustments: Bulk update inventory status for expired, damaged, or returned stock.
  • Printable Labels & Tags: Print layout formats for bin location labels and item tracking tags.
  • Threshold Alerts: Category-based low stock threshold notifications rendered on the main dashboard.
  • Stock Movement Audit Log: Historical audit trial capturing operator IDs, timestamps, and movement reasons.
  • Mutation Reports (Laporan Mutasi Stok): Daily inventory summary reporting with CSV export capabilities.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Go (1.17 / 1.18)
  • Frontend: HTMX, Alpine.js 3.x, Tailwind CSS 3.0
  • Database: PostgreSQL 14
  • Deployment: Systemd service behind Nginx reverse proxy on Jakarta central office internal Linux VMs.

Prerequisites

  • Go 1.17 or higher installed on your local environment.
  • PostgreSQL 14 server running.
  • Node.js 16 (optional, only needed for compiling Tailwind CSS locally).

Quick Setup

  1. Clone repository and copy config:

    git clone https://github.com/corporate-it/wms-lite.git
    cd wms-lite
    cp config.json.example config.json
  2. Database Initialization: Ensure PostgreSQL 14 is running and create the database:

    CREATE DATABASE wms_db;

Execute schema scripts located in db/migrations/:

    psql -U postgres -d wms_db -f db/migrations/001_initial_schema.sql
    psql -U postgres -d wms_db -f db/migrations/002_seed_warehouses.sql
  3. Build Tailwind Assets (Optional if using embedded pre-compiled CSS):

    npx tailwindcss -i ./static/css/input.css -o ./static/css/app.css --minify
  4. Run Application:

    go run ./cmd/wms-server/main.go

The server runs by default on http://localhost:8080.

Deployment Architecture

Deployed to in-house virtual machines in the Jakarta central office (10.20.4.50).

  • Application Service: Managed by systemd (wms-lite.service).
  • Reverse Proxy: Nginx handling SSL termination and proxying requests to local port 8080.
  • Database: Enterprise PostgreSQL 14 cluster on dedicated corporate internal network.
[ Client Browser ] --> (Nginx SSL Reverse Proxy) --> [ wms-lite Go service :8080 ] --> [ PostgreSQL 14 DB ]
