Recipe editor: ingredient category is freely mutable — switching a malt to honey corrupts the row #50
User feedback (forum, v0.5.0, 2026-06-15) — Arwen. Thread
Problem
An ingredient's category is freely mutable in the editor, which corrupts the row: e.g. a malt switched to "honey" (a sugar) keeps malt-only fields (EBC, yield) that no longer make sense, mixing incompatible characteristics.
Requested behaviour
Constrain category changes so the row's fields stay coherent — either re-scope the fields cleanly when the category changes, or prevent a nonsensical switch on an existing typed row.
Fixed in #53 (merged): changing a fermentable's category now resets the row to a clean entry for the new type (keeping the amount), so a malt switched to honey no longer keeps stale grain EBC/yield and the category-scoped picker stays usable.
Activity
fix(editor): close unsaved-guard nav bypass (#51) + coherent category…
