On this machine virtiofs=true did not beat 9P for the small-file workloads (walk 406 ms, read 7686 ms for 3000 files; five warm runs 5.9-9.8 s) and shows no persistent read cache. The Direction B bar is still multi-second, which justifies the read-ahead + hv-socket transport work to make wsldrive win there. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
