Issues

• Judges::Judge#tests builds a Dir.glob pattern from the judge directory, so a judge under a path with [ has no tests and judges test passes it without running it

• test_upload_simple_durable and test_upload_with_custom_owner hold no assertion, so judges upload passes them even when it never saves the file, never locks, or ignores --owner

• Judges::AsciiLoog#to_ascii turns every non-ASCII byte of a binary message into U+FFFD, so --ascii prints instead of +, and its rescue fallback is never reached

• The "Simple demote of a single judge", "Demote multiple judges" and "Combine boost and demote" scenarios never check the order, so judges update --demote can be removed without any test failing

yegor256/judges#918 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• A number in expected_failure, like - 404, fails judges test with TypeError: no implicit conversion of Integer into String, even when the message has 404 in it

• Judges::Impex#import_to has no caller since #555 moved judges join to its own absorb, so it is dead code that still carries the bug of #653

yegor256/judges#916 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• test_demote_with_wildcard_patterns passes without --demote, because the seeded shuffle already puts zzz_delta and zzz_gamma last

• test_with_broken_ruby_syntax, test_with_runtime_ruby_error and test_with_standard_error in TestJudge pass on a NameError from an undefined lib, so no judge script is ever loaded

yegor256/judges#914 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• TestTest#test_negative fails on /fb/f[foo/v='42'], an XPath that never matches a single value, so it never checks the bar mismatch it was written for

yegor256/judges#913 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges update --timeout=0.5 and --lifetime=1.5 are refused by bin/judges with "invalid argument", so the fractional values kept by #579 and #580 can never come from the command line

yegor256/judges#912 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• A UTF-8 byte order mark at the start of an --options-file makes judges update lose the first option, without any warning

yegor256/judges#911 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges eval with an expression that raises LoadError logs Finished and skips the command's error handling, because #562 wrapped only SyntaxError

yegor256/judges#910 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• A --churn path that can't be written fails judges update only in the ensure, after all judges ran, and its Errno::EISDIR replaces the real error of the run

yegor256/judges#909 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• The timeout of a test pack never reaches the judge as $options.timeout, while judges update always puts --timeout there, so a judge that stops itself in time is killed in judges test

yegor256/judges#908 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges print into an existing directory fails with a raw Errno::EISDIR only after the whole factbase is imported and rendered

yegor256/judges#907 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• expected_failure: [], the default the README gives, makes a test that can never pass: it fails both when the judge raises and when it doesn't

yegor256/judges#906 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges print --hidden hides nothing in the yaml, json and xml formats, the hidden properties are printed in full

yegor256/judges#905 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges test silently ignores unknown keys in a test pack, so a typo like expect: or expected_failures: turns the test into one that always passes

yegor256/judges#904 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• A judge that skips itself with raise 'skip' is logged twice as skip (RuntimeError) by judges update, the same way a crash is logged

yegor256/judges#903 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• A judge that raises an exception with an empty message makes judges update --summary crash with "The value of 'error' can't be empty", even with --quiet

yegor256/judges#902 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• The docblock of Judges::Test#test_one says tname has no .rb suffix and that the method always returns nil, while it gets a .yml name or a judge name and returns the Range of runs

yegor256/judges#901 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges update lets a value from --options-file override the same key given with --option on the command line

yegor256/judges#900 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• $options.hash, $options.method, $options.display and other names of Object methods never reach the option, because Judges::Options resolves options only in method_missing

yegor256/judges#899 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges update --quiet exits with an error "No judges were used" when the lifetime is spent before the first judge, because judges skipped for lack of time count as unused

yegor256/judges#898 · Filter by author morphqdd opened on Oct 11, 2026

• judges update starts the --lifetime timer only after the factbase is imported, while the other lifetime checks count from before the import, so judges run past --lifetime by the import time
