arXiv kit: endorsement is required here, per the 21 Jan 2026 policy change - #104

…hange The kit said 'if arXiv requests endorsement', which is no longer the right expectation. arXiv's 21 January 2026 policy update stops accepting an institutional email address as the sole qualifier for new authors. Two paths remain: institutional email AND prior authorship on an existing arXiv paper in the same endorsement domain, or personal endorsement from an established author in that domain. Path 1 is closed for this submission: it would be the author's first arXiv paper, so there is no prior cs-domain paper to claim. An institutional address, including an alumni address, does not change that, because the address was never the whole requirement. Path 2 is therefore the route and should be planned for rather than discovered at the form. arXiv states staff cannot waive the requirement. Also records the practical way to find an eligible endorser -- the 'Which authors of this paper are endorsers?' link on any abstract page -- and notes that this paper's reference list contains no arXiv-hosted work, so the search has to go through the cs.LO listings instead of the bibliography. Affiliation honesty recorded: associating an institutional address is an identity and contact matter, not a claim of current affiliation, and the manuscript must not assert one that does not hold. It currently asserts none, which is correct. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
