Firepick Calibration Image

The FirePick calibration image can be used by the FireREST vision calibration REST service to:

  1. Locate the "crash dummy symbol" at the center of the calibration image
  2. determine the machine XY motion resolution
  3. determine if motion is reproducible over XY area of calibration image
  4. determine delta machine XY error offset grid
  5. determine image XY pixels/mm at a given Z offset from the calibration image

Method

Print out the grid and measure the distance between the widest pair of tickmarks on each axis using a micrometer (e.g., X2/X2 distance). Multiple tick mark pairs are available for measurement. The widest pair provides the highest accuracy, but all are usable.
