Getting Started

Caution

EasyVersionBackup is experimental software and may cause permanent data loss.

Do not use it as your only backup solution.

Create an independent and verified backup before continuing.

EasyVersionBackup does not provide automatic or integrated restore functionality.

Before Your First Backup

1. Read the full Disclaimer.
2. Create an independent backup that EasyVersionBackup cannot modify.
3. Test the application with non-critical data.
4. Verify all source and target paths carefully.
5. Keep Retention and Source Cleanup disabled until the normal backup process has been tested.

Create Your First Backup

1. Click Add path.
2. Select the source folder.
3. Select the target folder.
4. Review the created backup pair.
5. Enable the pair using the checkbox in the first column.
6. Click Backup.
7. Confirm the version.
8. Wait for the backup to complete.
9. Open the created backup and verify its contents.

Source:

C:\Projects\MyProject

Target:

D:\Backups

Folder-backup result:

D:\Backups\MyProject_v1.0

ZIP-backup result:

D:\Backups\MyProject_v1.0.zip

Restore

Restoration is manual:

• Copy files from a folder backup to the required location.
• Extract a ZIP backup before copying files back.
• Never overwrite existing data without first creating another independent backup.
